Company’s Quality / Food Safety / Halal Policy
Baking Safe, Hygienic, Halal And Better Quality Products While Meeting The Relevant Legal Requirements Is Our Company’s Commitment Towards Continual Improvement and Customer Satisfaction
Since 1985, Julie’s has been steadfast in meeting the demands of the rapidly expanding domestic and export markets. Despite the growth that our business has undergone, we strongly believe that our success depends greatly on the supply of good quality biscuit products. Key to this belief is the responsibility to ensure that the quality and food safety of all products are upheld and not compromised.
Here at Julie’s, we demonstrate unyielding commitment towards quality and food safety throughout the production chain. We believe that quality and food safety are the responsibility of all employees. We set meticulous standards and engage our approved reputable vendors or suppliers in our food safety efforts. All materials supplied would come with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and our trained Quality Assurance team conducts thorough inspections on the materials to ensure they comply with necessary standards and requirements. Our in-house laboratory is capable of performing physical, chemical and biological analysis (e.g. food contact surface swab, air microbiological monitoring and pathogen environmental monitoring) on our raw materials, finished products and plant equipment or facilities.
All Julie’s products are certified Halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). In order to penetrate into the Indonesian market, all the Julie’s products that are exporting to Indonesia are also certified Halal by the Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) in year 2017.
We have also engaged third-party external laboratories certified with ISO 17025 to perform other critical laboratory analyses such as:
Our processing plants obtained…
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certification
The implementation of the HACCP plan is a preventive approach to eliminate, control, or reduce any potential hazards that can cause our finished products to be unsafe.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Food Safety System Certification (FSSC 2200)
GFSI-recognized schemes for food manufactures. This certification entails us to have additional contingency plans in place for emergency situations such as fire, water rationing, sabotage, food biovigilance and bioterrorism situations.
We put great emphasis in maintaining a hygienic processing environment to deliver safe and high quality products. Our manufacturing plants are carefully designed and evaluated for any possible food safety risk. We have proper controlled procedures in place, which include waste management, personal hygiene, pest control program and foreign bodies control – sieve, filter, magnetic separator, metal detector and X-ray machine. Regular verification activities are performed by our Quality Assurance team to ensure all control measures set are well executed.
We have a Quality Management System (QMS) designed for continual improvement and delivering consistent products manufactured to our consumers. This system enables our biscuit manufacturing processes to be monitored, recorded, improved and to guarantee that all products are manufactured within the defined tolerances.
As an approved biscuit manufacturer in Malaysia, our processing plants are regularly inspected by the Ministry of Health and third party certification bodies to ensure the compliance of relevant laws and requirements. We are audited according to the requirements of the Malaysian Food Regulations 1985 and other relevant standards, including MS 1480, MS 1514, ISO 22000, ISO/TS 22002-1 as well as the Codex Alimentarius Standard.
