The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Getting a deep understanding of the market, consumer, shopper behavior, and transforming the insights into actions and business opportunities.
- Defining, implementing and getting alignment behind a commercial plan, taking into account the short- and long-term view.
- Defining and monitoring a touchpoint plan to bring the consumer and brand experience to life, in line with the brand and portfolio strategy.
- Planning and organizing diverse tasks in a transversal project, managing and maximizing the performance of project teams (internal & external) in order to achieve objectives in time.
- Recommending, implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of business activities (commercial and marketing) in order to optimize the business performance and ensure excellence in execution.
- Using the key sources and methodologies to get a deep understanding of the consumer behaviors (“walk in shoes” of consumers).
- Developing, planning and implementing events, roadshow and outposts that are consumer-oriented in order to support key marketing campaigns
- Implementing different actions of the touchpoint plan, traditional and digital in order to create memorable experiences, and generate preference for our brands and advocacy.
- Delivering the merchandising guidelines for new launches or re-launches aided by the Trade Marketing team.
- Navigating into a digital environment, understanding how to succeed in a digital world, using technologies and new digital tactics for day-to-day activities.
- Emerging new business opportunities through generation, inspiration and exploration of new and relevant ideas, services, solutions and designs with both internal and external partners.
- Managing a project: resources and planning monitoring, cost and risks evaluation.
- Managing activations and its experiences, including promotional activities, campaigns, the concepts, assets, creative, content proposals including multi media campaigns and social media.
- Establishing and developing a trusting and impactful relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Engaging stakeholders around the project and getting their buy-in: communication and promotion of the project within organizational culture.
- Undertaking any and all other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the superior and/or Company.
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Management/ Marketing/ Mass Communication/ Business Administration or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ experience in managerial role and 8 years Trade Marketing experience in FMCG industry.
- In-depth understanding of trade marketing fundamentals and sales operations.
- Strong commercial understanding of business issues and opportunities.
- Knowledge and experiences in forecasting, preferably in manufacturing industry background.
- Experiences in execution, hands-on to develop, lead, motivate and enhance the skills of a team of managers and executives.
- Key Account with Category Management experiences is an added advantage.
- Experience and the understanding of business processes would be an added advantage.
- High analytical skill with the ability to guide team to go through complex data, turn it into insights on gaps and opportunities by channel.
- Strong business management, effective teamwork with all parties’ concerns, strong initiative follow-thru.
- Be sensitive in numbers and data.
- Able to think out of the box, push the boundaries, creative with curiosity, have an explorative mindset to generate ideas and solve problems.
- Good listening, verbal and written communication skills in English, Malay and Chinese
- Good presentation skills
- Good command of selling processes.
- Ability to engage in a productive discussion despite of encountering strong opposing views, then influence the opinions and overcome adversity professionally.
